When the user is scheduling a report , and wants to send the same using email , the attached error pops up. It was working fine till last week, she claims something has changed in the Crystal Enterprise.

All reports are scheduled, so the reports are not run "on demand".

I have already tested the SMTP connection and its fine, used command telnet the SMTP 25 and sent test emails, its fine.
Let me know if there is something else to be checked and how to do it as I am new to CE.
Thanks a bunch,
Vinay

Hi,
( Version INfo would be useful..Crystal,Database,OS,etc.)
attachments do not show up here..please post the exact error message you get..

If the SMTP server is correctly set up ( within CE not just at the OS level) then it may be that the database credentials are incorrect in the published report.

Version is CE 10 .
How do I check the credentials in the published report .
Thanks Turkbear!

The User says its just an MS Access DB and has no user ID and password !

You still haven't told us what the error message says.

You still haven't posted the error...

If it's SMTP related, then it may be that something changed on the SMTP side of your email (you didn't post what email server either).

Sometimes users will get errors because an Access table has changed, or the CE server account no longer has access to the directory.

But as Turk pointed out, you need to at least give us a hint as to the error received.

When I try to open the report with Admin rights I cant view it as it asks for user ID and pwd , at the same time I can open another report from the same DB , how do I check the credentials in a published report as Turk said.

Hi,
Since the User says that no Username/Password is needed, then check the accounts under which the Pageserver and Jobserver are running..They need to have rights to the directory where the Access database ( the .mdb file) is located..
( Usually a Domain account with sufficient rights is easiest to administer)

Hi Truk,
But when I schedule the report and say run now, it prompts me for a user id and password. If I go ahead and clear the check box for prompt for id, then it gives an error incorrect parameters !

Hi,
If the Pageserver/Jobserver do not have rights to the file, Crystal sometimes sees that as a username/password issue -
did you check the accounts?

Can you run a copy of that report in Crystal Reports without a username/password..

Is the User certain of the fact that no User/pass is needed?

I have checked the accounts, the user has admin rights. The issue I am guessing is accesing the DB. How do I know where to find the DB directory in CE 10 , I mean which tab?.
Thanks,
Vinay

Hi,
Under the Properties tab for the report, select the Process
section..Then DataBase - It will show what account is attempting to connect to the database..

But, when I asked about the accounts for Pageserver and Jobserver I did not mean the User account for the report but the account used by those services to run..Right click the services in the CCM and see what account is being used..

Hi Turkbear,
Well I did resolve the issue, it was the DSN name that the user has specified that was a problem. I found that out in CE 10 CMC , Process, Database.

Thanks a lot though !
