Help...

I am having an issue with an application calling my Crystal report. When the application launches the report it pops up a database login screen.

I have had this issue before, and someone figured out a workaround about year ago. The workaround was to do the following:
1. Set the "Database" property to the database name
2. Set "Use DSN Default" property to True

Worked like a charm, no problem.

I have a new report with the same issue. Problem is, the I don't have a Property available for "Database". It's just not there. I do remember this being the case and the other guy mentioned something to get it to show up. Sad part is, I have no idea what that was and he's claiming a case of Alzheimers. Just gave me a blank stare and doesn't even recall the issue. ARRRGGHHH!!!

Anyone have any thoughts about 1) Why this property isn't showing up on my current report and 2) How do I get this property to show up?

Does this have something to do with a setting in the ODBC Data Source definition? Crystal Options? Report Options? I'm out of ideas of how to get Database to show up on my list of available Properties.

The only difference is that the old report was attaching to SQL Server and this one to Oracle... Is this the issue? Any thoughts of how to avoid this with Oracle if that's the case?

"Other" Report Properties Available:
Database Type: ODBC
Data Source Name: tridata_m
User ID: sa
Database: tridata_m
User DSN Default Properties: True

"New" Report Properties Available:
Database Type: ODBC
Data Source Name: srsdata
User ID: srsdata
User DSN Default Properties: True

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Don

If you go to database->set location, you can set the location to the particular datasource and in properties, change the "Use DSN Default Properties:" to True.

Sadly, this doesn't help. Tried that and it still pops the database login dialog.

Any thoughts on how to get the "Database" property to show up under Set Location Properties?...
