Is it possible to have both crystal version 9 & 11 in the same machine ???

Hi IdoMillet --

Did you do anything special to install Crystal XI so it coexists with 9? My XI is an upgrade, but i want to verify it'll work with 9 without any fits as I want to verify all my stuff works in XI okay before scrapping 9.

Thanks --

Sam

I installed Crystal 9(developer edition) & Crystal 11(developer edition) both on the same machine.

While i install CR11 i selected the 'data access' as oracle. Also i tried the FULL install option too.

But, Not able to see the 'ORACLE SERVER'-driver while connecting the database from CRYSTAL 11.

But i can see the 'ORACLE SERVER'-driver from Crystal 9.

What went wrong ???

Hi,
In spite of others who have had multiple versions co-exist, it can cause problems with some of the shared components ( especially the DLLs that it installs in System32)
Also be aware that if you use Crystal Enterprise the XI designer cannot connect to earlier versions of the CE repository for editing or publishing reports.

One more 'gotcha': If you have multiple versions ( like 10 and XI) and decide to uninstall XI, your V10 will have problems ( like opening a Crystal Report .rpt file by dbl-clicking on it - apparently the deregistration process used by the Uninstall process removes the file associations)
