Hi,

Firstly thanks to anyone that can help.

I'm using Crystal 8 linked to an Access database. Within the database I have various fields containing email addresses. Now knowing how to let anyone using the report click on individual email field to send an email what I can't figure out is: -

How to get Crystal to take all email addresses from a group e.g.
There is a field in the database called PWIZ.Email. This field contains individual customer email addresses. What I would like to do is email ALL addresses for all PWIZ customers with one single click.

Anyone help?

Mike

scotsbloke,

To the best of my knowledge - Crystal cannot do what you are asking - it sounds like you want to use the report like a list server - to automate multiple email sending.

If you want to email the report to everyone on the list, then Seagate Info is the product for you - but you also must realise that if you automate a report to be emailed to more than 50 people - you are up for a broadcast license.

If you are trying to send a proforma email to the list then you need another product.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the response, but it would seem there is some confusion. I don't want to email the report as the details on the report are of customers.

If I set the scenario....

We have a list of users classed as PWIZ, there are approx 39 of them across the country. On occasion we have to send an email to all to say for e.g. User Group meeting. This email would contain information on agenda, timings etc. What I'd like to do is allow however needs to send this email to access the report and click on a link that will insert ALL the PWIZ user email addresses into say the Outlook To: field.

Scotsbloke,

That's what I thought you meant. You want to use the report so that it will display the email addresses of those in the database - but then you want Crystal to export that list to an outbound Outlook email.

The only thing I can think of is to write a formula that is a long string such as "paul@yahoo.com;joe@yahoo.com;etc." and then turn it into a hyperlink( Crystal maxiumum length of a string is 255 characters), or you could export the report as a "character delimited file" where ";" is the delimiter and then paste the text file into the email To: box.

hope this helps,

Thanks Paul. I did consider the option of creating a string with all the emails but don't think there will be enough room.

The export is another option that I'll look at.

Thanks for your help.
