Crystal 8-file get larger everytime I save it

I am in the process of converting hundreds of reports from Crystal 5 to Crystal. I notices as soon as I upgraded the report into Crystal, the file size almost doubles.

Also, when ever I make a change in Crystal 8, the file size grows. Even if I just moved a field.

Is there some sort of setting that I have on that is saving a history?

Brownie56: Check for Saved Data in your File options - ensure that this is turned off. There will be a file size difference between 5 and 8 but it should be the other way round! David C. Monks

I am not aware of any such setting, and I am pretty sure that there isn't one. I am curious though.

Make sure that you aren't saving any data with the report.

If you move the same object again and again and save it each time does it continue to get bigger?

Do any changes make the report smaller, like deleting a bunch of fields or formulas? Ken Hamady
