Crystal 8.5 Summing in Groups

I'm using Crystal 8.5 to sum a field (F) in several groups. The groups are defined by a variable (@g). The summing formula from help says to use these inputs. Sum (fld, condFld)

This formula sum(F,@g) produces the following error: "The summary / running total field could not be created."

Any ideas appreciated! Thanks.

You can not sum a variable using a crystal summary function

You must create another variable which sums the value input into @g and change its reset and display points.You will need to rset at group header and display at group footer
