Hello,

I'm using VB 5 (DAO) and Access '97 with Crystal Reports 7 on Win '9x machines. We are now replacing older machines here with Win XP Pro. We also have a new server running Win 2000.

Some of the reports (that have been in use for years) will not run from the OCX embedded in the VB forms yet they still execute correctly from the Crystal Report Designer. I think the conflict is that Win '9X and Access '97 PC's use the DAO350.dll while Win 2000/XP and Access 2002 PC's employ the DAO360.dll. I think the P2bdao.dll, P2irdao.dll and the P2ctdao.dll's may also be relevant.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a work-around?

Thank You,

Dave

Are you getting errors?

You don't get data?

The app hangs?

There are some known bugs, perhaps if you could provide some technical background for "will not run" someone can help.

Hello,

I've got everything else figured out except I'm getting 12:00 AM for any fields containing "time" from the database. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't think that Access has a data type of time, just date/time with a format for various types of time.

Verify that you do have proper times stored in the database.

If so, try a different connectivity type, and if that fails, consider using a SQL Expression to assure that you get back a value that you can use.

I just tested times from Access 2000 and they appear to work fine, even with the various time formats stored in the table.

Thanks For The Reply,

We had an old server with a RAID drive that melted down and "chewed on" the databases, exe's, and even a random Crystal Report here and there. Finally figured out the last problem with the time field - outdated versions of Crystal's supporting DAO dll's from version 4.? wound up on the new XP machines that came in.

Thanks again for your time and trouble - I appreciate the help,
