Hi All

If I have the following

Date | Code |
16/05/05 Offsite
16/05/05 Sick
16/05/05 Sick
07/06/05 Unscheduled
07/06/05 Unscheduled
08/06/05 Offsite
09/06/05 Offsite
09/06/05 Offsite

How can I modify the report so that it does not show duplicate entrys....

You haven't said whether you want to suppress dates, dates + code or to suppress the whole line.

To suppress a field, right-click and choose 'Format Field' and then Common. You'll find a [Suppress If Duplicate] checkbox near the bottom, as well as a regular suppress near the top.

To get rid of the whole line, the simplest thing would be to group by date and just show the values for the group header, suppressing group details. You can also right-click and choose [Section Expert]. This includes Suppress and Suppress by a formula test; the formula icon is the x+2 and a pencil. One option is to test {field} = Previous({field}).

Hi Madawc

Thanks for the reply, yes I would like to suppress the whole, line.

If I use the option of group by date and show values for the group header it only shows me the first value, but for a date I may have several different entries along with some duplicate ones.

Also the supress field will hide any field if it is equal to the previous so if I hide by code and have the following:-

01/01/05 Offsite
02/02/05 Offsite

It hides one, but as they are both on different dates I need them to be displayed.

In the section expert, highlight the details->suppress->x+2 and enter:

{table.date} = previous({table.date}) and
{table.code} = previous({table.code})
