I am having a problem trying to install W2K SP4 on my Windows 2000 system. I am receiving the following error: "Setup could not verify the integrity of the file UPDATE.INF. Make sure the Cryptographic Service is running on this computer."
I should point out that I have found references to this exact error but everything I have read refers to XP, not 2000. Also all of the tips I have read say to enable the Cryptographic Service on the system, but when I go to services there is no CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE.
Should there be a service listed? If not what do I do? I am unable to install any patches on my box, I really don't want to reinstall the OS if I can avoid it.
If this service is supposed to be here does anyone know how to get it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jessica
