is there a way to create a working encryption function inside of a program? I would appreciate any input you can give me. live life to the fullest. we only go around once.
 
Yes, if you can get the mathematical algorithms, you can code it. The problem is that some algorithms are copyrighted, (at least some of the best ones are). You can also get components that will encrypt. Blowfish is one that comes to mind. It used to be free for non-commercial uses. Try: . James P. Cottingham

Another possibillity is to use the PGP-SDK or if you are only interested in encrypting files use PGP 2.6 and include it into your code.
