Hi,

We are using Win2000 Pc's and Crystal 9.

A team has just moved offices, and with them went their printer (an HP LJ 8000). When this printer was moved a new printer share was created. Everything else remained the same.

However when attempting to print a report from Crystal 9 onto the printer you just get a load of cryptic symbols. I know Crystal 9 uses unicode now but does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this problem?

Perhaps the wrong printer driver is installed.

One way you might resolve would be to have the proper driver set up on a Crystal dev machine, open the report with the printer as the default, you will likely see some minor shifting in the report, and then save it again.

There's sometimes an issue with the HP Print Control Lanuage (PCL) - fixing the driver might resolve it. Check the HP site to see if they have a more current driver for Win2000.

You can also test it by exporting to PDF from CR-9, then printing to the HP LJ-8000.
