CRXI Server - Page server keeps going down

I am using CRXI server and the page server keeps going down - which means reports cant be viewed. Does anyone know why this happens?

This happens roughly every other day. It means having to go into the CMC and then stopping and starting the Page server. This is not ideal for a Enterprise application.

There should be errors in the APPLICATION ERROR LOG.

Please review the errors and post them here if they aren't self-explanitory.
 
I get lots of:

Type = Error
source = BusinessObjects_pageserver
category = Services
Description = Failed to register with the CMS ali-dw. Please make sure the CMS is up and running. Attempting an automatic retry...

and even more:
---------------
Type = Warning
source = BusinessObjects_pageserver
category = Transport
Description = Transport error: Communication failure.


Are these due to a lack of Licenses? That shouldnt disable the Pageserver - or?
 
This used to be common in CR 8.5. Are all of the services on one machine?

Right click the Page Server in the Services app and select Properties. Select the Recovery tab and set the falures to restart the service and see if this helps.

In some cases we used to install a second page server which helped, and in other cases I would end up having to repload the server.

Make sure that you're up to date with service packs as well.

All services are on one machine and I have installed the following service packs:

beXIwin_chf
commonXIwin_chf
(to enable SSO and passsing username/password through a URL string)

I will look to see if there are any other hotfixes?

I have selected the options on the recovery tab to re-start services - I will see if this helps.

If this does not help, how do you re-install a page server OR install and configure a second page server?
