Crpe32.dll, passing parameters

I have been trying to upgrade to Crystal 8.5 from Crystal 7.0. We use SQLWINDOWS 2.0. The report has 2 parameters (both strings). I am using PESetNthParameterField to set the values. The function succeeds however I get an error 515 (incorrect selection formula) while viewing the report.
The report works fine with CR 7.0. All reports that do not have parameters work fine.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
