We have an application which uses the runtime report engine, crpe32.dll (dated 8/28/97). On some of our PCs, a software package has been installed which causes a runtime error from the runtime report ending to occur: Error #1: no error. This other software package is also installing some crystal dlls: crxlat32.dll (and a few file formatting dlls) (dated 11/08/98).
I am guessing that these dlls are incompatible with our version of crpe32.dll? Any ideas?

Sounds like you've got the problem pegged - a mix of dll's from version 6 and version 7. Have you tried installing the ver 7 runtime (because you have two different runtime applications, they probably have two different but partially overlapping sets of runtime files). If you get a copy of Crystal, you could migrate your version 6 application to version 7. Some have had problems with parameters in reports doing this, so try it on a test machine...
Malcolm Wynden
wynden@island.dot.net
