Hi guys!

I unsuccessfully tried to Network my Laptop and my PC together using a:
Crosswire Patch Cable: CAT 5e Patch Cord

Here’s the exact one I have:

I went through all the steps that were required on WinXPs Network Wizard…I had my Crosswire Ethernet Cable running from and to both computers. After going through the procedure of the ‘Network Wizard’ on both computers I was given information saying that a Network was Successfully Setup (received on both computers).

My problem is I cannot see the other computer when I go to ‘My Network Places’.
Is the Crosswire Cable supposed to be inserted in the Ethernet slots? Because that what I did [smile]
When I’m on my Laptop I can’t see my PC and vice-versa.

Have I missed a step?

Any help would be great.

P.S. If I missed stating some info…let me know!

Jenny, I don't think your problem is hardware. (other forum you posted in) I think your problem is with the setup you are using. I would suggest you try the xp forum779.

Hi franklin97355!

Thanks...I'll make a post there!
