Hi:
I want to show the differnce between two summarised fields in a crosstab report.
How can I accomplish this?

Thanks,
Arthi

There is currently no way to write a formula using cross-tab cells. In some instances you can write a formula in the report and use it as an additional summarized field.

For instance if you have revenue and expenses in your report, and you summarize both in the cross-tab. You could create a formula called net that was rev - exp. Summarizing this in the Cross-tab would be the same as taking the difference between Cross-tab cells. Of course, this doesn't fit all situations.

You can also create a manual cross-tab using groups for rows, and conditional totals for columns. Here you will have the ability to add columns that do whatever you want. The downside is that the columns are hard coded. Ken Hamady

Thanks for the quick response.
As you said I created a formula field for net and included it as a summarised field
and it works.
I am interested in also knowing how to create manual cross-tabs. Do you have any examples?

Thanks,
Arthi

No, but in the FAQ area I have a FAQ on conditional totals. If you:
1) create a conditional total for each column
2) group the report by your "row" field
3) Hide the details

You will have a basic manual cross-tab. Ken Hamady
