I was supprised to discover that the totals on the right side of a Crystal Reports 8.5 basic Crosstab are not just the sum of the row. Crystal Reports apparently re-evaluates the data and does another calculation (a count, in this case) to determine the total. What caused me to discover this was doing a "distinct" count of the rows and doing the math revealed that the math total does not match the row total.

Is there a way to force CR 8.5 Crosstab totals to be the mathamatical sum of the rows in the case of row totals??

No. The crosstab is mathematically correct, and you will also find that you cannot change the summary of the total field independently of the individual cells. If you need a different kind of summary, where you total the individual column values in each row, you will probably need to do a manual crosstab, where you can add the results of each column formula to get a total.
