crosstab returning duplicate rows

We are using Cognos 8.2. Have built a list report based on a SQL query which returns desired rows and results with no duplicates. We then used the 'Pivot list to Crosstab' from the Structure menu to convert to crosstab. We configured the crosstab and it returns rows. However it returns duplicate rows. The count of duplicates seems to match up with the parameters passed in from the prompt page. We are using the promptmany function for one param and prompt for others. 5 in all. Looking for a setting or property that might alleviate this problem. Have a ticket into Cognos and have not received response yet. We have retained all the default settings relating to the query used.

A first test would be to start with a fresh report page and create a crosstab from scratch. Simply drag the dimensions and the fact into it and check whether this still gives you duplicate rows.

Thanks Ties. Have tried creating a crosstab from scratch with same results. Still waiting for feedback from Cognos. They had recommended the same approach in their initial email. Appreciate the suggestion. If any others come to mind, please let me know.
