Is there a way to have labels display at the top of my crosstab rows. I want to place the labels atty and app# at the top of crosstan rows. I tried using a text box but my crosstab report spans 2 pages.

Any suggestions? Thanks

From the crosstab exper notice the Style tab. Some of those preformatted styles show the labels at the top.

If so, please let me know which one. I coudn't find any and I'm looking for a solutionas well. The problem is that the crosstab should be a table, but the way it is implemented, it looks like the left top corner is missng.

I never found a resolution to the problem. I looked through the styles and found nothing.

I contacted Crystal support. Here's what they suggested:

On a cross-tab, to add something to it's the upper left corner, you have to add a text object, a box or a line. For example, to add a text object, select "Text Object" under the menu "Insert", then place the object in the upper left corner of your cross-tab. Finally, you can add text to your "Text Object" by double clicking on it. If you want to add lines, then select "Line" under the menu "Insert" and draw a line over the cross-tab in the upper left corner.

Regarding the "can grow" option in a cross-tab, it is unfortunately not possible to enable this feature because the cross-tab needs to always have the same size for it's rows and columns. The best we can suggest, it's to ensure that the fields size, on your cross-tab, are as large as the longest text you'll expect to see.

This suggestion will only work wih Crystal 10, where you can set all those lines and text to be repeated on horizontal pages.
Pretty useless ;-(

This doesn't give the same look, but it does allow you to add labels to your rows. Create a formula {@rowlabel}:

whilereadingrecords;
"Atty and App#"

Insert this as your topmost row field in the crosstab (Drag it into the top position if necessary). This will create an outer "group" section which includes this text. If you want, in preview mode, you can select the text->format field->common->text rotation->90 so that it prints sideways. Also format it to center so that runs midway down the side of the crosstab. You can then resize the section so that it is narrow. (Note: The rotated text wouldn't print on my printer this way, however.)

You can add labels for column fields this way also. Then you will need to go to the customize style tab within format crosstab and highlight each label formula and select "Suppress subtotals" to eliminate the extra total row/column.

No, it's not the same. I know how to create row labels, but I need a 'missing' corner, for the row and column labels to be there, just like in a Work or Excel.
I already use the workaround you suggested.

I don't have a problem with the corner, our customer do
