Crosstab exported to excel repeats headers

I have a Crosstab in my Report Footer. I have 2 fields selected for the Columns and 1 for the Rows and 1 for the summarized field. The Print Preview is 5 pages.

PROBLEM--------
When I export to excel the column headers repeat throughout the .xls file, once for each page of the print preview.

I am exporting as Excel 97-2000 (XLS) as the Data Only option does not work well with 2 fields for columns. The Excel export option gives me an export option of "Export page headers and page footers" I've tried setting this to 'Once per report' and 'None' but this has no effect.

How do I export my Crosstob to this format of Excel and have the column headers only display once ?

You can format the column headers to suppress conditionally with:

pagenumber > 1

However, the extra row space will still appear on subsequent pages.
