crossover cable needed?

If I'm running an NT SMTP server off of the DMZ interface on a PIX515, does the cable need to be a crossover cable? I'm not getting any connection lights on the PIX DMZ ethernet card after connecting the server to the DMZ card...

This is the rule:
Anytime you connect a nic to nic, you need a crossover cables. All others for the most part are just patch cables
