Cross-tab Reports and Subreports

Hello,
I need to list two items side by side and total them by day. Then to the right I need to list two more items, also side by side, total them, and then do some calculations using the TOTALS for both sets out to the right side. So each day's data goes across the page. We've tried subreports but can't get totals by day, only a total for everything in that field. I can get the correct look for the first set of numbers (this is supposed to resemble the current Excel spreadsheet being produced) by using a cross-tab report. Here's my question: Can I have multiple cross-tab reports on one page? Then I could maybe use the total for each in a variable and use the totals for both in further calculations. If so, I haven't figured it out yet.

Any advice would be sincerely welcomed. Two of us have been trying to figure this out for two days and aren't making a lot of progress. We'd like to know if we are going in the right direction.

Thanks.

Hi Brendag,

After reading your post, here's what I think (some assumption is involved). You don't need sub reports or a crosstab if the following is true;
4 Items A,B,C,D, 2 Totals, A+B, C+D.

If the 4 items are each in their own field, place them in the detail section of you report. Create 2 formulas A+B and C+D. If you want a grand total then A+B+C+D. Place these formulas in the detail section also. Then group your report by day. Once the group has been created you can add sub totals, counts etc.... by day.

Hope this helps.
