I have an sql table called GENERIC. It has a SORTNAME field. Here is an example of data SMITH/JOHN. It also has a NAME field. Here is an example Mr. John SMith. In my cross tab I have a formula, GENERIC+''+Name. This is the only way I know how to alphabetize the name. As we know the crosstab rests in the report footer. Is there a way to alphabetize the Name without showing the SORTNAME??

Use the Sortname field as your row field in the crosstab, and while it is highlighted->group options->options tab->customize the group name->choose your Name field from the field list.
