This is a system error appearing when I'm working in VBA in Excel 2010.

I didn't want to post twice - but it was suggested to me that this might be a good place to ask too!

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

one of the main causes for the dreaded 80004005 error is a permission problem...

have the IT department check all the relevant permissions, e.g. Office2010 folder, temp, etc. folders... also have them check to see if the firewall/antiviral solution does not interfere...

also take a look at:

"Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)'" when you programmatically set a property of a chart in Excel 2007 or in Excel 2010

another good suggestion, I had read: do a registry cleaning, e.g. CCleaner...

good luck and keep us posted Fee...

Hi Linney:

I'm not doing this:
You add a Microsoft DirectAnimation Sprite control (daxctle.ocx) to a UserForm.
so that can't be my issue I guess.

I only have one version of office (this is quite a new PC - solid state drive, 8 gig memory and stuff...)

BigBadBen - none of my worksheets are protected, so that doesn't seem to be my problem either.

thatks for the head-sup that it may be permissions - as a generaly rule - if I am developing in VBA or indeed in VB - should I need extra rights over a standard user?

thanks guys.

Fee,

should I need extra rights over a standard user?
I am not a developer, but it should not be a problem using standard user rights...

you could test this though, in that you give yourself (I am assuming you are also the administrator) more rights and then redo the steps where you get the above error message...

if the error still occurs, then you know that that was not the problem...

and if it does not occur, then probably a working directory, file, etc. may need to be checked to see if the "standard user" has access permission to said file/folder..

other than that I am out of ideas on this problem...

Have you looked at third party programs and non Microsoft Services as a possible cause? It would be interesting to see what happens if you check via a clean boot situation.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

I'll suggest that. On a brand new laptop I've just lost abouther 2 hours work.

Really tempted to just pack up and go home and have a cry!

As suggested by others - I've removed XLCubed in the hope that might ahve been the culprit.

If so, I might give them a piece of my mind! (I've done that alot recently... there isn't much left...)
