Has anyone managed to add cross-hairs to an Excel chart? I mean full-sized cross-hairs that move with the mouse, not just turning the mousepointer into a cross.
If you mean an object that you can move around and place on top of an Excel chart, then use the Drawing toolbar, draw your two lines, and then group them. Is that what you're looking for??
Dreamboat, I think Abi is looking for the cross hairs you get in Paint or other such grpahics product, which line up with rulers etc. I don't think Excel gives you that functionality as it is not a graphics tool per se.
Not going to happen unless he pastes-special as a picture. Also, perhaps Abi wants to move the chart around and can't because he's got it on a chart sheet? If that's the case, all he need do is hit the Chart menu and choose Location, then choose a sheet to put it in as an object instead of on a chart sheet.
I mean more what Hasit is talking about - dynamic cross-hairs that move with the mouse pointer, and display the numeric values of x and y at that point. I don't want the actual chart to move.
OK. Not possible within Excel, simply because it is not a graphics (CorelDraw etc) type package. If you want to manipulate the chart, you might want to copy/paste it into a grpahics package, but other than that, its a no go.
Let me know what you are trying to do and perhaps we can offer alternatives.
