Basically I want to know how to access the multiple databases from one database. For clariaty if I am in Teradata database I want to use some Oracle tables and some DB2 tables to do a lookup. I know for sure we can do this. But what are the options and which is the best?

Thanks in advance,
Manmaria

What versdion of Teradata are you using? Warehouse Builder may allow you to build scripts for connecting to various sources. I don't think there are any methods as simple as you are assuming.

MS Access is about the only client tool I have used that allows connecting to multiple databases simultaneously. Most others connect one at a time and merge the results.

We are using
RELEASE V2R.04.01.03.12
VERSION 04.01.03.27.

Thanks

What do you mean by "access"? Writing
SELECT ...
FROM teradata_table JOIN oracle_table?

You can't do that with the tools provided by NCR, but you can do that using e.g. MS SQL Server/IBM DataJoiner and AFAIK Oracle's Gateway. But this will be probably rather slow...
