My crop tool is restricted to square shapes and won't allow me to drag to another shape. It has not done this in the past.

Thanks!

That's a strange one since as far as I know you need to hold the shift key down to make that happen.

Maybe your preferences need to be reset to their install state, they sometimes get "hosed" and strange happen.

While holding down the [Ctrl Alt Shift ] keys, Start > All Programs > Photoshop.

A MessageBox will ask "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File" to which you answer Yes.

The Preferences file will be rebuilt and hopefully your problem is fixed.

Select hte crop tool and look at your options bar at the top, probably there will be some numbers in the width and hight fields.

At the right of your options bar you see a button "clear". You must use this button to clear the width and height settings, by changing the numbers to "0" in the fields Photoshop wants to create a crop with the number.

Now your crop tool works like before.
