my system is set to do a tape backup every night.
Recently only 2 of the three usual backup messages appeared.
Now no messages appear.
The system no longer backs up!
No-one has changed anything, so could it be the drives are full?
If so, any suggestions?
Thanks

what are your crontab entries john? Mike

Is cron running?
Possible reboot?
Are any of the other items in crontab completing as they should? Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Check your systems logs for cron details. If cron tried to execute and failed it should reflect in your syslog or cron log or somewhere.

Thats where I would start.

I would also check the cron jobs for that account.
crontab -l will give you a listing of cron jobs setup for that account

Check the man page for more details
