The CRON process is showing. I can kill cron and restart it. ( /etc/init.d/cron stop will not work).

I have restarted CRON, but nothing will execute from it. Is there anything I can check for?

If you edit a crontab (crontab -e) and save it, do you get any message to the effect that cron may not be running?

I guess this is SCO right ?
if so check , /usr/lib/cron/log file for any errors
NB - you must make sure /etc/default/cron file , there is an entry for logging cron entries
ps -ef | grep cron ( what does this show i.e. /etc/cron)

( do man cron fro more inf0)

Thank you, problem sorted.
