cron stops working

Hi
I have had a interesting problem with my cron intermittently stop working. The process is there and the lock files and log files look fine. Anyone else experience this? (P570 running AIX 5300-04)

Too many concurrently-active cron jobs perhaps? I know there's a limit but I don't know off-hand what it is.
