cron stops executing scripts, but it does not hang

the following problem occurs on a sco openserver 5.05:<br>sometimes - not very often - the scripts in the crontab are not executed.<br>trying to restart cron by 'sd cron' is not possible because cron is already running.<br>thx for any advice<br>noka
 
You need to kill off the cron process first.&nbsp;&nbsp;Use ps -ae ¦grep cron to find the pid.&nbsp;&nbsp;Kill off the process.&nbsp;&nbsp;Next you must remove the file FIFO.&nbsp;&nbsp;It resides in /usr/lib/cron.&nbsp;&nbsp;Just remove the file, rm /usr/lib/cron/FIFO.&nbsp;&nbsp;Once the file is removed, type cron and the daemon will restart.<br><br>Tim
