Spares planning does have a lot of good info, but some of the content (like MTBF) is meant for a provider with lots of customers - they use the values in formulas to determine how much of what they need to warehouse.
A "crash kit" can be as simple one or more of every card you have - there are not really that many. Thats pretty much what I did.
