Hi-

I have been having some problems with access lately. What When I prepare a simple query that is searching through 1400 records and one table to find all the records where the field "email" is null, the query returns no records. I am using the criteria of "is null" in the email field of the query. When I look at the table, I can see that there are 475 records with no values. Is this a bug or am I just totally missing the boat?

Thanks

Is it possible that the column contains an spaces or an empty string rather than being NULL?

Try this. It handles both possibilities.

Nz(col_name,"") = "" Terry L. Broadbent

Or,

Is null or = "" in the criteria

Hi There: I got the query to work using " " in the email field. Perhaps there are spaces in the data fields, what do you think? This is a database that I pulled off the internet that we use to track brochure requests. So maybe the asp scripting adds in a blank space when a user fills out the request. I'll have to ask the programmer who did the asp.

Have you ever heard of this problem before?
