What model? I just did a site for a customer that had a couple dozen Crestron systems, but they were integrating with the PBX via a ClearOne VH20 unit. Was pretty simple, I think I only had to change one setting in the SIP device capabilities from default.
Not sure yet Lundah. The RFP just landed on my desk. I'm asking for general info, stories, nightmares about integrating a MiVoice Business in a hotel with a Crestron. The property requested touchscreen IP phones so I'm going to go with the 5360s and the HTML tool kit. I've reached out to Mitel Hospitality but I figured I'd start a thread on tek-tips to get feedback from the users on their experiences with it.
Bottom line is as long as it's a SIP integration and the endpoint complies to the same RFC's as the PBX, the biggest problem you should have is fiddling with the SIP device capabilities to get it to work properly. A bit of a pain to set up, but afterwords it's simple.
Lundah, I would love to hear what you changed to get the Crestron working. I have a crestron with a ClearOne VH20 that I am trying to get working. I can make internal calls, but external calls get a busy signal. I have already set the class of service and class of restriction to the same as my office phone. There are so many options in the SIP device capabilities, that I am not sure where to start.
I left them all default. Might have to play around in the VH20 settings, specifically there's dial plan settings there that you may have to mess around with to match the ARS settings in the MCD.
Looks like you were right. We can now dial external numbers with the crestron touchpad. The last issue to deal with is the conference conference calling. We are still having issues when trying to add another phone to a call.
Have you captured the SIP registration packets @ the 3300?
If not, you can do so by issuing this command in Maintenance Commands: SIP TCPDUMP ON and SIP TCPDUMP OFF (when done)
Then FTP to the IP of the 3300 and go to this folder /vmail. You may have to enter the folder path manually. Pull down the WS_<date_time>.pcap file and see what the VH20 is sending to the 3300 in terms of credentials.
You can also try removing the SIP authentication password from both sides to make sure the VH20 can even register. It could very well be an issue with another setting in the VH20..
We have made some progress with this. I can now make and receive calls with the sip device. That issue now is the conference calling. I can call an extension without issue, press the conference call button and the first extension called is put on hold. However, instead of being able to dial another extension, I get a busy signal. I have to hang up the call. The first extension is still on hold and has to hang up as well. The logs from the ClearOne show that it is trying to establish the connection, it appears that the Mitel is no allowing it.
