With new credit card guide lines for reporting as well EMV I have been getting tons of questions from clients

This is what I have been telling them. If you have other suggestions let us know
for Grat I suggest everyone use . It just works, the price is right, and it will increase your cash flow. Seamless integration into aloha. Also works with Micros

For EMV, if you have an older version of Aloha and you are not planning on making current with hardware and software. I have been suggesting users go back to the old fashion way. Remove EDC, get the side terminals and go that way. If the card is chipped no chance for a charge back. It will be slower than you have been used to but a $150 charge back is worse. If you Heartland, there readers are $199 each. Other processors charge more.

If you are current on Aloha software and hardware, wait. NCR has promised a solution soon. Outside of America everyone else uses a side terminal.

For the other experts out here, what are you suggesting? For the guys who still work for a dealer what are they saying about EMV?

We are waiting for the NCR solution. I think we will roll out QS sites first since there are no tip adjustments. At first we were getting a lot of calls on questions but now not so much. It will be pain coupled with QIR implementation

For Grat Track, does it read the data from Aloha and export back to it?

Aloha still doesn't have an EMV solution out? That is nuts.
It has been slow to get additional processors and all functionality as without but POSitouch has EMV. Most installs are with Vantiv and Heartland but more are due.

There were third party solutions that allowed for EMV integration into Aloha if the site already has Aloha Connect module. Unfortunately now, NCR/Aloha has ended the sale of Aloha Connect and have gone to Aloha Cloud Connect thus requiring those third party solutions to get re-certified with Aloha. In my opinion it was done to allow NCR/aloha to catch up with their solution and have it out to the sites first instead of these third party solutions.

I've seen clover integrations with Aloha but that has ceased due to the certification issue. Best thing at this point is to go with stand alone terminals.

POSGuyUS, Gratrack works with Aloha on FOH. BOH has its own interface. It creates its own buttons and allows to track tipping between staff. Give them a call directly for more info on it. I have 6 clients who use it and love it. I have seen it work live and talked to staff about it. Staff was bummed at first but with minimum wage at $10 an hour in CA plus tips of 100 to 300 a day there paychecks were huge. They changed there thinking very fast.

POStech72 you work for NCR, whats the hold up? This was not a new thing. They knew about for over a year before the deadline. Its been over 18 months and still no solution!

I have a customer that should probably look at that Grattrack, they have a very complicated way they do tip outs which exceeds what the built in Tipshare program in POSitouch can do. I sent them an email.

I don't work for NCR but I know they were rolling out connected payments by processor. Which I don't know where exactly all that stands at the moment. Primary focus has been on SHA-2 and making sure of getting heartland customers to 14.1.20 edc before Jan 1. Connected payments is kind of the least of my worries at this very point in time but I assume it will start rolling out next year. We had an initial barrage of questions about it and it has sort of died off since. I am sure it will come back though.
