Hi,

Wondering if anyone canhelp me with a problem I have been having. I dont know how to resolve it, except for removing a few cables, then it works eventually.

Now it just keeps doing the same thing...

The problem, "When I turn on my machine, the DVD activity light maintains at constant orange, the drive is not detected in the bios, and therefore does not function.

I have tried creative support, who say re-install Windows drivers, but this obviosuly does not help, as this is stemming from the BIOS, as opposed to o/s

If anyone has any ideas, or has resolved this one before, I would be greatful to know.

Thanks

Is the ribbon on correctly, red line usually goes toward the power. Make sure your jumpers are set properly. Is it a new install or is this new behavior? Good Luck

How is it configured? Is it Secondary Master? Any IRQ conflicts? Have you tried a new ribbon one that is know to be good. Hmmm, Try resetting your BIOS back to default settings if all else fails. As a last resort try looking to for a BIOS upgrade. Any more info you can give on when the drive works would be helpful. Good Luck...

I have tried a new purchased cable. I am using Optimized BIOS setting with latest release.

Thanks

Try moving it to another controller maybe the controller is failing.
