creative cd-rw 12-1032x errors when writing to disc

when copying or writing data to disc,i can manage to copy some data to disc,but more ofen than not half way though copying a disc i get this programme will be closed due to comctl32.dll,i have quite a large pile of coasters,has any body else had this problem,and if so can you help with a fix.I have done the route with new drivers etc,reinstalled the software for the disc writer etc.hope sombody can help?

The comctl32.dll is a library of common controls used by Windows and given access to other programs so that they won't have to rewrite control interfacing and the look of Windows will remain consistent. Things like bars, buttons and boxes have functions in the dll. Either it is corrupt, has been replaced by an out of date version or is just generally needing an upgrade - the writer software may be trying to call a function which your version of the dll does not support.

You did not mention the OS version that you are using but here is a link to Microsoft to download version 5.80

If you don't have Win95/Win98/Win98SE/WinNT3.5/WinNT4 go to Micrsoft direct and see if they have an update.
