I need some help from you guys !!!

When we issue the command, ls -l we get long listing of the directory. Also the time stamp shows the last modification time of a particular file.

I need to see the time when the file was created (i.e. file creation time). How can I see that ?

Thanks In Advance

Unfortunatly no *nix flavor keeps track of file creation time.
The three DateTime info related to an inode are:
- inode change time
- data modification time
- last access time
The most closer to file creation time is the inode change time.
Check the man ls output to see if the -c option is of interest for you.

Hope This Help, PH.
