Hi everyone,
I am a relatively new sharepoint user and I have a question regarding the creation of an own user group.
Is it possible to create a group that allows its members to invite new participants (probably even with exqiring user rights?) but without granting these users other administrative functions? - So a user in this group should be able to invite new users, but aside from that should only have rights to read and publish documents.
Thank you very much in advance!

Hello,

As far as I know, the only one that can add users to sharepoint is the Administrators. I do not think you can build such as specific sitegroup with the permissions you are asking for.

I looked into similar things earlier for our environment but I did not find a way that made it work.

Why not appoint one person that can handle the administrative tasks and then create a sitegroup for your other users with the read and publish rights (such as the default Contributor site group has).

Regards,
Thomas

Hi,

Thanks for informing me. In this case the administrator would have to handle the user management.
