I was just recently given the task to put together a yearbook for an elementary school, with 10 days to complete it..

I have been using quarkxpress 7 for the pages,(I am an extreme beginner with both yearbook and quark experience)Today I am working on the individual portraits sent to us through "Lifetouch". All other candids and random pics have imported fine but these "lifetouch" are losing most of their quality.. Why in Windows Picture viewer are they clear when in Quark they are just horrible.. What can I do about this???? some one said to use microsoft Publisher, Will that take care of my problem? Anything of help will be greatly appreciated... THanks a mill

I just switched it to a bitmap file and it is working fine, is there a way to switch all of the 50 files at the same time?

Quark only displays a low-resolution temporarily created image for display purposes only, for all images. This is to increase the speed of Quark. On output the images will be just as good as what you see in "lifetouch" or any other image viewing software. As long as the images are sharp at 300 dpi and are cmyk then you will have no problems
