Novice here with hopefully a simple question/query...... I have a field called "Surgeon Description". Once in a while the records show the word "possible" embedded in the field. I'm trying to create a variable to isolate these records that contain the word "possible" but can't quite seem to find the right function to do so. ie... (= if <Surgeon Description> = "possible" then "possible in field")
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Nimmy99 for the quick response. I should have expanded my request with a more detailed example. Lets say this SURGEON DESCRIPTION field is a "free text" field showing the following data returns:

Case # Surgeon Description

001 " Possible Incisional Hernia Repair With Mesh"

002 "Incisional Hernia Repair With Mesh"

003 " Inguinal Hernia Repair with possible lap open"

004 " Lesion Excision"

So in other words, given the 4 data returns, and rather than "filtering", how can I create a new variable to capture and isolate the corresponding SURGEON DESCRIPTION field corresponding to Case #'s 001 & 003 as it has the word "possible".

As a newbie, I can't quite create this.

So if there is other advice... I'd greatly appreciate it.

Again, thanks for the response.
