Creating typing test

Hi Everyone

I have been tasked with creating a simple typing test. I plan to do this by creating a four page intanet site.

I want an intro page - no problem
a practice page - no problem

then i was thinking of creating a form, with some text above a free text field. Problem is, i want to track what the user types in the text field and compare it to the text above it ? Anyone done this before ? I would also like to change the font color of the new typed text if it doesn't match the original text.
This would create certain values that i would like to send into an excel document.

Any one got any advice on how i do this ?
