creating two log files for two servlets

I created a servlet in Tomcat and made a copy of it deployed in a different location in the same Tomcat server. But I want to be able to have all of the logging for the 2nd servlet go to a different log file. I tried by changing the appender configuration in the log4j.properties file that I kept in the WEB-INF/classes folder but this doesnt seem to do much, log4j just keeps logging in the same file.

any ideas on what I need to do here?
