I've been reading through this KBase article on creating a TOC in a crystal report.

Instead of using an array, it suggests using the "Add Command" dialogue to write and read from a database table via a sub report. I've followed through the instructions, but I was not aware that you could use Add Command to WRITE to the database. I have not been able to get my report to write to the database table.

Has anyone ever tried this or anything like this?

I will be attempting to implement an index, so an array is out of the question (as it is limited to 1000 items)

Thanks for reading my question.

The information you provide ("I have not been able to get my report to write to the database table") is vague. Show your command and explain in what way it failed to write to the database.

If you plan to provide the output as a PDF, there is at least one 3rd-party Crystal tool (see list of such tools at that can generate the Table of Content when exporting a Crystal report to pdf.
