Creating Template with Prompts - Word 2000

My office has migrated from Corel Perfect office - with in Wordperfect, there was a function that allowed creation of templates - which when opened prompted the user for pre-determined information that once completed is intergated in to the template. Corel called this function - New from Project.
I cannot find this sort of function within Word 2000. I need a template that opens and prompts for info and then intergates it in to pre-determined areas on the template.
