Creating Synonyms - with CLOB Field Types

I am experiencing the following ERRORS when trying to create a SYNONYM:

Errors:
(FOC1400) SQLCODE IS -1 (HEX: FFFFFFFF)
(FOC1405) SQL PREPARE ERROR.

The only thing that I can think of, is that this ORACLE TABLE contains a CLOB type field. I have NO problem creating SYNONYMS for any of the other tables.
