creating resource file (.rc) in Visual C ++

Want to create a menu in windows program using resource file (.rc). started resource file and chose ID=Resource Symbol after right click mouse. Entered name and value of resource (a menu). Not sure if I should use ID=Resource Includes and also insert from the options list. Using Visual C++ 6.0.
