I do not know how to use cognos to create report but my company is planning to use cognos for reporting. We would like to set up one report with different versions. For example, report 1, it pulled out column/time period 1, column/time period 2, column/time period 3. Report 2, it pulled out column/time period 4, column/time period 5 without showing other columns.
I have some questions regarding this issue:
(1) Will cognos support the user to have one report instead of creating 2? The user can select to run report version 1 or 2 with different columns as report 1 and 2 have the same dimensions except with different columns.
(2) If we can have one report, for example running report 2, will there be extra space in the report when suppressing the report 1 columns?
(3) If we can do it, can you simply explain how it can be done?
