Creating PO's from OE

SQL 7.5103F. DOes the function work in this version of macola to auto generate PO's from OE orders??

I want to use for processing drop ships directly from manufacturers. The process is currently we book an order for warehouse 10 (manufacturer). We generate a purchase order send to manufacturer (warehouse 10). We invoice the cusotmer. The manufacturer (warehouse 10) invoices us. We receive inventory at warehouse 10 via purchase order and push on through a/p. Just looking to make this type of process as easy as possible using macola. We do not have flex at this time.

Macola does offer OE to PO integration, but I find their generic solution somewhat limited. I've used Peak (Tectura) Best of OE for so many years & it is more feature rich than Macola's offering, that I haven't invested much time in trying to tweak the generic macola oe to po. Downside to Peak's solution is that it is source code based. I haven't heard what they are planning yet for ES since exact says they won't give source code to developers any more.

Maybe Don can tell us if his ES folks are using oe to po. Is it any better than the 7.6 version?

To use OE to PO, you need to do the following:

1) Turn the feature on on the third page of the OE Setup screen (if you do not own Advanced Distribution, this will not be available). Pay close attention to the "default PO qty". This setting can adversly affect how the OE to PO functionality works.

2) On item master maintenance, set the OE to PO flag to either "A" or "Y". Read the help files on this to determine which setting is best for you.

3) Enter a customer order for the OE to PO item.

If you have done all of the first 3 and this is still not working, please let me know.

We also use Peak's product and have had further modifications done to enhance the process even more. Unless they can resolve the ES issue, we may be using this version for a long time!
