Perhaps somebody can help me with the following problem:
Is it possible to create (not visable) placeholders in Pagemaker and after creating a PDF-file to use this placeholders in the pdf-file to import additional text directly into the PDF while using these placeholders by doing search and replace.
Could anybody provide me some help in this case ???

Why would you want to import extra text into a PDF? PDFs are difficult to edit (that's why they exist - to reatin the layout of the original) and unless you know exactly how many characters you are going to want to fit into the PDF after it is made, you will have huge problems. Far better to add the text to PM then remake the PDF.

Hi, melcher,

Are you talking about creating forms to be filled in with Acrobat?

Hi Eggles an BigJohnD,
Just to explain the sence of this procedure: I would like to create a kind of templates for tables of assigned values with PageMaker and provide this as PDF to other people who should be able to place the relevant values into the PDF-file (they don't use PageMaker). The idea is that these values could be filled in into predefined placeholders which have been defined already in the PageMaker template. The question is, is it possible to define these placeholders in PM and after distilling to use them in Acrobat.
